Bayou Pigeon

Major Improvements Coming to Bayou Pigeon Boat Launch!
Big changes are on the way for Iberville Parish! Officials have broken ground on the $2 million Bayou Pigeon Boat Launch Improvement Project, fully funded by the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA).
Here’s what’s coming:
- The boat launch will expand from two lanes to seven, easing congestion for boaters.
- New floating piers and walkways will be installed for safer, more convenient access.
- Parking and accessibility upgrades will make it even simpler to explore the stunning Atchafalaya Basin.
This project isn’t just about easier access to one of Louisiana’s most cherished waterways. It’s also about boosting our community. Local businesses stand to benefit from the increased traffic and tourism.
Parish President Chris Daigle, CPRA Executive Director Glenn Ledet Jr., State Representative Chad Brown, and Environment & Economic Development Director John Clark spoke at the groundbreaking, emphasizing the recreational and economic opportunities these improvements will bring.
Construction is set to wrap up by Spring 2026.
