Ben Routh Boat Ramp
Located along the banks of the Red River, the Ben Routh Boat Ramp and Recreation Area offers ample opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of the area. With a 4-lane boat launch and 1 boat dock, anglers can easily access the Red River’s many fishing spots. Meanwhile, families and groups can make good use of the 25 picnic tables and cooking grills throughout the area. For those with children, there are 2 playgrounds, as well as 2 playfields where kids can let off some steam. There are also 2 comfort stations and plenty of trash receptacles throughout the park. Those looking for a bit of exercise can take advantage of the scenic hiking trails, and everyone can enjoy the scenic overlook that offers stunning views of the river. With access roads and 126 parking spaces, the Ben Routh Boat Ramp and Recreation Area is a well-maintained and well-equipped park for visitors to the area.

From Marksville: take LA Hwy 107 North 7.1 miles to LA Hwy 1196. Turn right on LA Hwy 1196, go 2 miles to Ben Routh Road. On the right is the entry to the recreation area.
From Alexandria: depart LA Hwy 167 – Cottingham Expressway on to LA Hwy 107. Go 20 miles to LA Hwy 1196. Turn left on LA Hwy 1196 and go 1.2 miles to Ben Routh Road. On the right is the entry to the recreation area.
